Laying the foundations for more efficient groundworks

Shanco has teamed up with Arc Engineers to bolster its offer for developers, contractors and facilities managers working across the modular, industrial and commercial sectors.

The partnership will provide clients with quicker and more efficient access to below-ground structural design services that can increase cost certainty for groundworks projects and streamline the entire process.

“We’ve worked with Arc Engineers for more than five years and there are many synergies that will benefit our clients nationwide,” explained Declan Armour from Shanco.

“For example, we provide groundworks services for lots of modular builds, which require bespoke foundation designs that take into account the different types of ground at the site and its condition. Our clients can now benefit from direct access to that design expertise and a more accurate picture of costs as many potential structural challenges can be identified and addressed at an earlier stage.

“With our input, that means main contractors can get to site more quickly and the whole groundworks process can be streamlined.”

Andrew Rimmington, Managing Director at Arc Engineers added: “We’re looking forward to working in partnership with Shanco to strengthen our offer. Our combined expertise will not only benefit contractors working on larger new builds and refurbishments but also facilities managers and those in the industrial sector, that need advice on external development and maintenance. This can be anything from damaged concrete slabs in service yards to completely new schemes.

“We are now ideally placed to advise on both structural design issues and construction ensuring a comprehensive groundworks solution that can be delivered quickly and reliably.”
