Hampton Junior School Value: £170,000

 

Shanco undertook the groundworks as part of a school extension project to help provide additional capacity and teaching space. Works included the construction of the new foundations, drainage works and external hard landscaping for the client’s new modular classrooms.

Critical to this project was the management of the live school environment and ensuring the safety of staff, pupils and other members of the public. Good planning was essential. The programme was carried out in four distinct phases to prevent the works from impacting on the school’s running functions and allowing it to remain operational throughout.

Shanco provided a flexible approach which worked around the school timetable, increasing labour resource when required to speed up works and using smaller more accessible plant and equipment. We also coordinated deliveries to within specific times and managed site operations to ensure school children and parents weren’t exposed to construction traffic.
